Coordination Studies

Most electrical power distribution systems are not planned with protective device coordination in mind.  In a properly coordinated system the protective devices are selected and adjusted to minimize the impact of equipment failures within a system.  Our dedicated team of engineers understands the value of a coordination study being performed (using SKM software) during the equipment submittal process to ensure the proper engineered equipment is purchased and installed.

 

Incident Energy/ArcFlash Analysis (NFPA 70E)

A Short Circuit and Coordination Study is critical for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of any electrical distribution system.  A Short Circuit Study will help to ensure that personnel and equipment are protected by establishing proper interrupting ratings.  When an electrical fault exceeds the interrupting rating of the protective device, the consequences can be devastating, including injury, damaged electrical equipment, and costly downtime.  A Coordination Study maximizes power system selectivity by isolating faults to the nearest protective device.
